OUR COMMUNITY AND YOUR RESPONSIBILTY

Think of Sportsgear X as your Canadian sports community. We provide the tools to help you find and connect with other enthusiasts. It's up to our members—the buyers and sellers—to communicate and work together to ensure a great experience for everyone.

As with any peer-to-peer transaction, we ask that our members exercise due diligence. It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm the authenticity and condition of an item before finalizing a purchase, and the seller's responsibility to accurately represent their listing. We're here to provide the network, but the responsibility for each transaction rests with the parties involved.

While the transaction is between the buyer and seller, Sportsgear X will always assist in finding a solution to ensure both parties are satisfied with the best possible outcome.

RETURN & REFUND POLICY

Our goal is to ensure both buyers and sellers have a positive experience on Sportsgear X. If you receive an item that is broken, damaged, or not as advertised, you are eligible for a refund.

You must initiate a dispute within 72 hours of receiving your item. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. On the transaction page, click "Dispute."

  2. Explain the issue in detail.

Dispute Resolutions Once your dispute is opened and determined to be valid, you and the seller will work together to find a solution. There are two primary options:

Option 1: Partial Refund

You and the seller can negotiate a partial refund.

Once you both agree on an amount in the chat, Sportsgear X will apply the partial refund to your original payment method and show you the breakdown on the transaction screen.

This is the recommended option as it is the fastest way to a solution and saves you the hassle of returning the item.

Option 2: Full Refund

If a partial refund is not possible to resolve the issue, you can return the item to the seller for a full refund.

If it is determined that the item was not as advertised, Please click on customer support on the transaction page and Sportsgear X will work with you to have the item returned.

Our Community Promise Sportsgear X is a trusted Canadian community. Our sellers are committed to providing an excellent experience and are typically eager to work with buyers to resolve issues and ensure both parties are fully satisfied.

Note: The order becomes nonrefundable as soon as you have approved the sale or 72 hours after the item has arrived at your address-- whichever comes first. The order also becomes nonrefundable once the item has been used.

NO RETURNS- Returns or refunds will not be issued due to buyer's remorse, change of mind, or subjective dissatisfaction with the item (e.g., "I don't like the color anymore"). You may try to negations with the seller for additional discount but the seller is not obligated to assist if the product is as described. We recommend listing the item for sale within the community. By doing so, you can recoup your investment and continue your search to find the correct gear you're looking for.

BUYERS AND SELLERS PROTECTION

The best option to protect yourself is keep all negotiations, sales, purchases history on Sportsgear X. Buyer and Seller protection is our top priority. We can only offer Sportsgear X Buyer and Seller Protection if you keep the transaction and all communications related to the transaction on Sportsgear X. Once you go outside of Sportsgear X we are not able to protect or assist you. Buyers and Sellers beware.

Once you make a payment, there will be a live tracking link available on your history page.

When will my item ship The majority of Sportsgear X sellers ship their orders within a couple days of a purchase. However, there are times when the Seller may be on vacation or face other circumstances which prevents them from shipping promptly. We recommend communicating with the Seller for more information regarding shipping time.

When you make a purchase, your payment is escrowed, meaning the Seller does not get paid until you've confirmed that the order has arrived in its promised condition or 72 hours after the package has arrived at your address-- whichever comes first. If the Seller never ships the item, then you will be refunded. If the Seller ships the wrong item, you can return the item for a full refund. Your payment is entirely protected.

PAYMENT INFORMATION SECURITY

Sportsgear X uses Stripe to process payment. Please see the link below for more information from Stripe about security. We will be adding more option like Interact Etransfer, Google pay and Apple pay in the near future.

My Purchase Never Shipped The Seller doesn't get paid until you've received the item in its promised condition. If the item never ships, you will be refunded in full. Your payment is entirely protected.

FIRST TIME SELLERS?

More Pictures, Pictures, Pictures This will help you sell faster as you are provide all the details shown to your buyers and they will have less questions and less concerns about your item. Do not hide any kind of imperfection. Be transparent as this will help streamline the transaction and avoid upset buyers. This will also protect you overall from any kind of possible future disputes from buyers as you have provided all the proof on your pictures. Pro Tip for Faster Sales: Upload 2–5 high-quality photos from different angles. Detailed images build trust, leading to quicker sales, fewer disputes, and strong visual evidence to support you against any false disputes.

Communication is key! Let your buyer know when you plan to ship their item. Be sure to remain communicative throughout the shipping process. Be polite and communicative with other users.

Print your prepaid label Click “Print Label” from your Sportsgear X page. The buyer’s already paid for shipping!

Become a 5-star seller to boost your sales. Buyers are nearly 3 times more likely to purchase from sellers who have a strong reputation and positive feedback.

Ship the package Schedule a free pickup, leave the package for your local mail carrier, or drop the package at your local carrier. Let your buyer know that the package is shipped.

WHAT ARE THE FEES?

We believe in keeping things simple and transparent. There is no cost to list items on Sportsgear X. A fee is only applied once your item sells.

Seller's Fee When your item sells, a 16% seller's fee is applied to the final sale price. This is an all-inclusive fee that covers all costs, including the payment processing fee. You do not have to pay anything extra for payment processing—it's already handled.

The total 16% seller's fee is composed of two parts: a fee for the marketplace itself and a payment processing fee that goes to our third-party payment provider, Stripe.

Fee Breakdown Payment Processing Fee: This fee is 2.9% of the item's sale price + $0.30. This is the standard rate charged by our payment processor, Stripe, for handling the financial transaction. Sportsgear X Marketplace Fee: This is the remaining portion of the 16% after the payment processing fee is deducted.

Shipping & Taxes The buyer pays for all shipping costs. These costs are not included in the item's sale price and do not factor into the seller's fee calculation. Seller does have an option to manage their own shipping.

In addition, a buyer is also responsible for paying any applicable local taxes (GST/HST/PST) based on Canadian government regulations. These taxes will be calculated and added to the final order total at checkout.

This straightforward fee structure means you can list your gear with confidence, knowing exactly what you'll pay once it sells.

Secure payments: We handle all payment processing.
